When we moved into our newly built dwelling-place almost 9 years ago, one of the things I wanted more than anything was a pond. And rectilinear below our front window there was a minute alcove circle that was the perfect greatness and place to put one. So we did. At the duration I had absolutely no form how much work ponds were. Now I do. Let me right tell you, they are a lot of act. A lot.

This weekend was the first truly nice weekend we have had this year. And so Saturday was deemed "Pond Cleaning and Upkeep Day". Ugh. First of all, we (my good in the highest degree husband in all the universe helped) had to empty all the yucky, scummy irrigate that had sat all winter. We used a bucket until we got to the bottom and then we pulled out the trustworthy Rainbow vacumn cleaner to cross-question out the rest. Then we had to clean the sides of the liner, lave it, and empty out that water. We cleaned the strain. Last fall we had discovered the cross-question had decided to interrogate its last bit of water ever. We needed to store for a new pump. No vexed question. We jumped in the car and ran to thorp. We went to accumulation #1. No pumps that would fit our system. We went to provision #2. Same point to be solved. We went to treasure #3. Clearly all the folks at the pond cross-examine factory have joined in on a cabal. They realized if they changed the devise of their pumps every so often, then when folks had to re-establish them they would also have to purchase new filters, hoses, and all the other pond paraphenelia. Ah, but they hadn't considered my spouse. He finally chose a cross-examine and converted it to fit the materials we had at residence. Of course, to inaugurate the new pump we had to dislodge lots of weighty rocks...
