day three in robinet's party, which, by the way, is in praise of "freedom to join in marriage week."

a pair of weeks ago we babysat our next entrance neighbor forest-like for part of an afternoon. it was the day after his third natal day, and so he brought over one of the presents he got: two toy marvel trucks. cosmo and forest-like played with them a bit, and even had a diminutive squabble over one of them, but at last sylvan was more partial in exploring cosmo's toy assemblage, so they were put aside. when forest-like's dad picked him up, they accidentally left them behind.

later that darkness, after cosmo was in bed, carl and i found ourselves setting up ramps with books, revving up the trucks and letting them unloose to collide into each other. they are not the generous of toys i'd speculate to get for cosmo, but boy, did we have fun with them! these things are medium of vision and springy, with caoutchouc tires, they ascend walls and flip and smash.

it must have fulfilled some not to be found childhood from pole to pole of mine. i wasn't a super girly-miss as a child, but i didn't certainly play with cars and trucks much. i call to remembrance one time, acquisition a hold of a metal peck-up truck of my brother's, and playing with it all over the existing room cover with a floor for hours. it sticks in my soul as this wonderful recollection of discovering that something i wasn't used to playing with, that belonged in the authority of boys, could be in reality enjoyable. i've always carried around a little feeling of trouble, that i didn't do it again. well, not...
